SembaruthiInk.

A private studio built around a single idea — inclusivity extends beyond the skin.

The Sembaruthi Ink mark — a shell and hibiscus, hand drawn

Sembaruthi — The Hibiscus.

In Tamil, sembaruthi (செம்பருத்தி) is the hibiscus, a flower that holds a familiar place in Tamil culture. The name was chosen as a connection to Mathusha's Tamil background and to the beauty and character of the flower itself.

For Sembaruthi Ink, the flower represents a connection between culture, art, and identity. It became the foundation for the studio's name and visual identity, bringing something meaningful from Mathusha's background into her work as a tattoo artist.

Sembaruthi Ink is where art meets identity — creating tattoos that feel personal, intentional, and uniquely yours.

What Shapes the Work

Four things that don't change.

01

Consent, First

Nothing is drawn, sized, or scheduled without you seeing and agreeing to it first. No surprises at the chair.

02

Slow, On Purpose

Good linework isn't rushed. Every piece gets the time it needs to be drawn properly before it's ever tattooed.

03

A Private Setting

One artist, one client, one appointment at a time — no waiting room, no crowd, no rushed handoffs.

04

Inclusive By Design

Beautiful tattoos shouldn't be limited by skin tone, body type, or convention. Every person deserves to see their ideas represented thoughtfully and accurately on their own skin.

The Space

By appointment only.

A private studio designed for a more personal tattoo experience. Each appointment is one-on-one, giving you the space and time to focus on your design from the first idea to the finished tattoo.
